<figure class="table"><table><tbody><tr><td>Segment IELTS Speaking | Type Lesson: 01</td><td>BOOK: Lessons for Ielts Speaking | Unit 12 Page 98-105</td></tr><tr><td>FOREIGN TEACHER</td><td>Student’s book (04) - Focus on Part 1 of the IELTS Speaking Test (page 98 -> 101) + Do Ex.1,2,3 as warm-up activity, then ask the students about their own leisure activities in Ex.4, which are not mentioned in the previous exercises. Match the examiner's questions with the candidate’s answers in Ex.5 and practise speaking after that.  + Listen to the recordings again and underline the words in the candidate's answers in Ex.5 which are stressed, then practise saying the answers with the stressed pronunciation. Tell the students to fill in the answers to the questions with information about themselves in Ex.9, and practise the stress pronunciation. (Ex.10).  + Do further stress pronunciation practise on adverbial phrases in Ex.12,13. Ask the students their own ideas about what they like to do in their leisure time and why they like doing the activity, focus on using the adverbial phrases (with stress pronunciation). Encourage the students to extend their answer by using the Vocabulary bank page 98.  - Focus on Part 2 of the IELTS Speaking Test (page 102->104) + Read the prompt card and the brainstorming graph in Ex.17 quickly, then read a sample answer in Ex.18 (reordered) as hints, then ask your students to answer the questions in Ex.20 to practise Colloquial or informal language.  + Now ask your students to make notes about the same prompt card: "Describe your favourite leisure activity" in Ex.21 and ask them to speak for at least one minute. Encourage the students to imitate the speech in the sample answer, extend their answer by using the Vocabulary bank page 98. Teacher corrects their pronunciation and speech. - Focus on Part 3 of the IELTS Speaking Test (page 104 - 105) + Ask the students to write their ideas in short notes in Ex.23. Before they answer, remind them to include words that show contrast (Ex.24) and include introductory phrases for reason/result or result/reason sentence structures (Ex.25) in their answers.
